Police are scouring the city of Buffalo, N.Y., for an award-winning trauma surgeon and former military weapons expert to question him about the fatal shooting of a receptionist at the Buffalo hospital where they worked.
A spokesman for the city police department won't divulge details of the search, where police were focused or how many officers were involved. Michael DeGeorge would only say the search for 49-year-old Timothy Jorden was extensive and ongoing.
Police say Jorden may be armed and should be considered dangerous.
Authorities say 33-year-old Jacqueline Wisniewski was shot four times while in a stairwell of the Erie County Medical Center early Wednesday. Media reports say Wisniewski was Jorden's ex-girlfriend.
Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda is expected to give an update on the killing by noon Thursday.
